THURSDAY: English Institute of Sport, Sheffield
8.55 Tips on Clinical Examination
9.10 Hip Examination lecture with demonstration.
9.30 Knee Examination lecture with demonstration
9.50 Foot & Ankle lecture with demonstration
10.10 Coffee Break
10.30 Hip, Knee and Foot& Ankle cases
Here the candidates are in groups of three and rotate where they get to see approximately 6 hip, 6 knee and 6 foot and ankle cases.
1.00 Lunch Break
2.00 Clinical Examination of the Cerebral Palsy patient with demonstration
2.30 Gait
2.45 Clinical Examination of the Spine with demonstration
3.15 Coffee Break
3.30 Paediatric and Spine cases
The candidates are in groups of two and rotate where they get to see and examine approximately 14 paediatric orthopaedic and 4 spine cases.

FRIDAY: Transfer to Chesterfield Royal Hospital ( transport arranged to and from)

9.05 Elbow Examination with demonstration
9.20 Hand and Wrist Examination with demonstration.
9.45 Perepheral Nerve Examination with demonstration
10.05 Brachial Plexus Examination with demonstration
10.20 Coffee
10.35 Shoulder, Elbow, Hand and Nerve Injury Cases
Candidates are in groups of three and rotate seeing a variety of upper limb cases
(approx 20 cases).
12.30 Lunch Break
1.30 Mock Exam
Candidates are in groups of three. There are ten rooms. In each room there are two consultants and at least 3 patients. Therefore each candidate gets examined on at least 10 patients and gets to observe his colleagues being examined on 20 patients. Virtually all patients have a different pathology and clinical sign.
