Mr. Ali is the Deputy Head of Training in South Yorkshire & was nominated for the best trainer award by BOTA in 2011.
He has been awarded the Best Trainer of the Year 2010 and 2011.
He is also on the faculty of the Miller FRCS Orth Course in 2011.
He has written a course manual for Clinical Examination and is co - authoring a book on Clinical Examination in Orthopaedics.
He has organized the national course for musculoskeletal examination for the GPs.
He is also a FRCS Orth examiner since 2011.
The original idea for the course and the organisation has been the combined efforts of himself and Stan Jones. The first course was in 2007.
Fazal Ali dedicates a significant proportion of his professional life to education. He is the Undergraduate Lead Tutor for Orthopaedics at Chesterfield and lectures and examines at the University of Sheffield.
For his input into registrar training in the region he has been voted North Trent Trainer of the Year on three occasions, 2005, 2007 and 2009.
He is now an examiner with the Intercollegiate Board for the FRCS Tr&Orth Exam.
